Gears Tactics is a turn-based tactical video game developed by Splash Damage in association with The Coalition and published by Xbox Game Studios. It's a spin-off of the Gears of War franchise and a prequel to the first game. The game was first released for Microsoft Windows. on April 28, 2020 and later for Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S on November 10, 2020. 

Gameplay 
Gears Tactics is played from a top-down perspective and is a turn-based tactical title in which players send commands to a squad of soldiers to eliminate enemies on a map and, depending on the mission, complete secondary objectives. Players can freely explore the map without being tied to a grid. Each character can take three actions, such as taking cover, shooting at enemies, or staying on guard to fire at any moving enemy in your line of sight. If an enemy unit loses most of its health, a friendly unit can enter and execute the downed enemy, giving all units an additional action point. Grenades to destroy the erupting emergency holes that spawn more Locust enemies. If an allied unit is knocked down, players can revive it to bring it back into battle with reduced health. The game has five different character classes, each with their own unique skills. Characters can be extensively customized with mods and armor, and can acquire new skills as they level up. procedurally generated and if these units are killed in combat, their kills are permanent. In addition to the main campaign, players can complete various side missions. At numerous points in the story, the player must complete one or more side missions in order to continue. Once the player completes the campaign, the Veteran Mode will be unlocked, which will allow players to confuse the campaign's missions with various modifiers like bonus damage and precision penalty. However, the game does not have a multiplayer mode.
