How to use Avast mobile security
Install Apk downloaded from above. and run the app
You will be greeted by a welcome screen. Tap the green “Continue” button at the bottom of the screen to proceed.The tour will continue to highlight the salient features of the app. Tap “Continue”, again at the bottom of the screen, to move on.
You’ll see "settings" located at the bottom of the tools list . Tap it to bring up settings menu.
In the settings menu go to updates and check for any latest virus definitions versions to update(Antivirus must be up to date to find popular viruses)
The protection menu screen lets you enable/disable the various features, as well as allow you to specify whether to scan apps on installation or on execution. Tap the relevant boxes to check/uncheck the options.The Web Shield helps to protect unwanted traffics in the apps. You can also specify whether the app should offer protection against phishing sites and malicious sites, auto-correct URLs, and direct you to the correct site even if you type the address incorrectly.
The File Shield option specify whether the files are to be scanned when being read or when they are being written.
The Message Shield menu screen specify whether to scan incoming messages.But the block messaging ability of the feature does not function on post-KitKat versions of Android.
There is another feature called 'low reputation apps' feature warns you about malicious apps reported by other avast users.
Avast also providing a feature for rooted devices called firewall. this feature prevent unnecessary internet access in apps. Means you can block all internet data usage and make it offline app. But firewall does not work when android data limit is enabled.
